The partners at Kirkland & Ellis LLP have provided a generous grant to the Kirkland & Ellis Practicum Fund for Course-related Travel, which will support domestic and international student travel as part of a course, seminar, or clinic.
This partnership supports Columbia Law School’s commitment to providing students with experiential learning opportunities at home and abroad. Capitalizing on the expertise and contacts of the Law School’s world-renowned faculty, recent trips have included visits to the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland, to observe a Human Rights Committee session; a stop in Washington, D.C., to witness U.S. Supreme Court oral arguments; and participation in cross-disciplinary data research at a partner university.
The new fund is only the most recent collaboration between the Law School and Kirkland & Ellis, which also supports The Kirkland & Ellis New York City Public Service Fellowship for a Columbia Law 3L to pursue public service work benefiting New Yorkers.
