As part of The Campaign for Columbia Law, Steve Case ’68 has pledged his support for the Annual Fund. Through his generous commitment, Case is ensuring that the Law School can continue to be nimble and responsive in addressing urgent needs of the School in real time, as they arise. He also established the Stephen H. Case Faculty Research Fund, which supports the cutting-edge scholarship of the Law School faculty.
Case, who received Columbia Law School’s Medal for Excellence in 2011, serves as managing director and general counsel of Emerald Development Managers, a venture capital and private equity firm. Previously, he was a partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell, specializing in bankruptcy and financial distress matters. A longtime supporter of the Law School, he currently serves as a member of the Dean’s Council. He is an emeritus member of the Board of Visitors, served on the executive committee of a previous capital campaign, and has chaired several reunion committees. He was a Columbia University trustee for more than a decade—from 1997 to 2011.
